I think we're alone now.....

and it sucks. Flako went back to his moms yesterday:( Everything that could have gone wrong.....did. We got pulled over on the way there, there was a problem with his flight and then some douched asked me change seats at the gate so that he could plug in his laptop. Lo mande a la burger. On the way home we stopped at Hooters, only to find out they now post calorie counts on their menu.....ruined!!!! Hooters has lost it's appeal. I would much rather NOT know. I stuck to the bowl of Chili after finding out that my favorite Philly Cheese Steak sandwhich is a whoppoing 985 calories, not including the potatoe salad, pickle, or beverage. So yeah. I went into Flakos room this morning before work and it was so SAD!!!!!! On another front, we're going on our BIG camping trip next weekend, and we're going canoeing and fly-fishing which of course is uber exciting! Getting new tire on my truck this weekend, which is gonna be great as we all know off-road season starts in October.....can't wait to go sand railing and I've decided I'm getting another quad soon, crossing my fingers I'll have it by Xmas!!

A birthday and a party....

We took this picture before going to our friends 30th birthday party, it was a blast!
Except for his sisters goofy hat, it was a good picture

So we're not excellent singers, but still... Anyway, Flako turned 9 years old on the 30th and he picked a Wall*E cake. When I asked him what kind of cake he wanted he said he wanted Sponge Bob so we went in search of a Sponge Bob cake. When we got to the bakery, they had this half-sheet with a huge Sponge Bob on it and it was a good looking cake, so I pointed it out and asked for the cake, but then he saw the price tag on the display, $42 and declined it. I told him that it was ok, that we could afford to get it and he thought about it for a minute and he said that he would take Wall*E instead. I kept asking him if he was sure because we could still get the Sponge Bob like he wanted and he thought about it again and said "it's just cake, I'll take Wall*E". I felt sad for him. Finances must be tight where he comes from. Either way, the other video is Flako singing the Oscar Meyer Wiener song and that's the Wienermobile in the background.

Had an easy 8 hour day. Pues si, after an entire week of 12 hour days 8 hours feels like a piece of cake. Went to moms after work, meant to just grab Flako and head home yeah right, I fell asleep until 9pm. Not that it mattered to Flako because Alex came over and they kept each other occupied. On another front, my childhood BFF Priscilla ran the SF half-marathon yesterday, hooorrraaayy for her. Oh, and yeah she actually finished it. So in celebration, we're going back to Cabo!! Thus the picture.

Many months later...here we are again!

I know, I know, I suck at this! I give my cousin Rachel crap over hers and here I am doing the same:) We haven't done very much lately, mostly just working. I work crazy 10-12 hour days. Managing a retail store with such high expectations is no joke! I got home last night and my stepson said " You work too much, I never get to see you" It was a heartbreaking!!!! So I'm spending all of today focusing on him, well, mostly I spent all last weekend focusing on him as well, but what can I say? The kid knows he has fun with me. Last weekend we spent the weekend in SD. We meant to go to the U.S. Open Sandcastle Competition, well, we went on Saturday, only to find out that the professionals build on Sunday. We then spent the day on the beach and my brother and he went boogie boarding. Then we went to check into the Navy Lodge on North Island in Coronado and lounged on the beach. We fell asleep super early, the sun drains you that way. Sunday we went to the lighthouse in Point Loma and missed the sandcastles!!! I was mad! Mom took me shopping as a consolation price and nope it did not work. Then she tried cheering me up with a Philly Cheesesteak from Hooters, that kinda worked. We came home and then got right back in the car again to see Maritza and the kids, they are a wild bunch I tell ya. I couldn't do it. Then I worked a crazy 62 hour week and after last nights comment from Flako we spent all morning watching Coraline in 3D. The movie recommends the room be as dark as possible so we took our comforters and blankets and tacked them over the windows and we liked the dark so much we've left them on all day. It's been nice. He's such a goofy kid, I love him. James has mostly slept today, but it's ok, Flako and I love spending time with each other. The other day my brother gave him a poster board to draw on, well he gave him a pack of 20 I got to put up Als Marine pictures for his homecoming and instead of erasing and starting over he would just grab a new one so now I have a bunch of posterboards with random lines on them. o_O Either way he drew this awesome Goku on it for his Dad that now hangs in our bedroom. I was quite impressed, good drawing. Haha! See you can still see the guest room comforter over the window!

Last few days....

We've had a good week around here. We went to the fair last Thursday and we had a good time. We saw a good Sea Lion show and we got to eat those Fajitas I love so much. James and I played some games and rode the Ferris Wheel and then ate some more and walked around a whole lot. Then Friday we had date night #2. We went to eat mariscos in Mexicali:) I'd been craving them for a few days so he indulged me. How sweet is he. We've been focusing on our relationship like uber much and I'm getting back into the groove of things and just enjoying each other. We visited my grandma that night as well and we had a nice visit. I slept all the way home....which makes me the worst copilot in the world. I ALWAYS fall asleep in the car, but in my defense it's because I get carsick like super easy and it's just better if I sleep cause then I don't get sick. We also had my mom and Al over for lunch on Saturday and we just visited here in our home and then mom and I went shopping. After James and I had dinner at Applebees and Sunday I went with my brother to say goodbye to people as he was leaving Tuesday morning. James and I had a great weekend and I am so grateful that we are rediscovering each other and liking it. Tuesday Mom and I took Al to Camp Pendleton and said goodbye. We picked up Aaron along the way. I miss my brother. He showed us where he worked and we bought cookies and we went shopping. He is so patient, I'd forgotten that about Aaron. We also saw Jessica but only for a minute as she was on her way to work. We got Aaron and Jessica some clothes and we got Aaron a skateboard as his old one was about to break. We had dinner with the missionaries and it was kind of sad as it was Elder Laws last dinner with us. We did a lot of chop bustin' well, mostly me but oh well. We had a good time. Off to bed. More Air Show crazyness tomorrow at work. I'll be so glad when this week is over!! Oh last note.... I got an award from Capt. Hubbard:) Because I'm AWESOME!! Huge accomplishment by the way.

Update

Ok. So I wrote the one blog and then gave up:( Chalk it up to my short attention span. After a huge rough patch James and I have been doing better than ever. We've refocused our attention on our relationship and it seems to be thriving which is a huge improvement seeing as to we were on the brink of extinction. James has quit drinking and is on a healthy kick and on the road to accomplish his goal of losing 30 lbs. He's made some major, major adjustments such as the no drinking, walking to work everyday, eating mostly tuna and chicken and we still go on our bike rides in the afternoons with the dogs. It's been very refreshing. He's also joined a football league so it seems as though he is super determined to get it done. Discipline, determination and will power he claims is all he needs. We've started looking at houses again. We went to some open houses and thus far have been disappointed. We have to realize that our backyard is a thing of the past. Nobody builds with yards like ours. A little saddening since we have two dogs who don't get a long half the time. I now have my miniature schnauzer with us and he really really likes all the room he has to run around. Either way....just updating here so I'll see ya guys later.
